Behavior Team Updates

The behavior team at PPS has been making progress on the draft PBIS/BRTI framework.

Freshly energized from the Northwest PBIS Conference in Eugene, Tammy, Karina, Jeremy, Kathleen, & Todd are now working in the following areas:
  1. CHAMPS training for 20 educators begins 3/2/11 at Tubman
  2. Functional Behavioral Assessment/Behavior Support Plan training for school teams
  3. Individual teacher coaching
  4. Introduction to PBIS for school staff
  5. Student Intervention Team trainings and tune up
  6. Coordination with district RTI committees
  7. ELD trainings

As spring approaches, we are getting requests to help schools plan for next year in the areas of social & emotional curriculum, bully prevention programs and intervention team planning.

The Role of the PBIS Specialist

THE ROLE OF THE PBIS SPECIALIST

· Facilitate, assist, maintain and adapt PBIS school training and implementation efforts.

· Ensure that resources are committed for initial training and on-going implementation support.

· Attend site meetings regularly

· Respond to team requests for support (i.e. problem solving).

FIDELITY OF THE PROCESS

PBIS Coaches assists in the following ways:

· Prompt teams to follow the research-based PBIS model

· Focus teams on self-developed action plans

· Monitor timelines set by site, district and state

· Provide reciprocal communication between site and district level PBIS teams.

DATA REVIEW AND REPORT

PBIS Coaches can:

· Assist with effective and efficient data collection and reporting.

· Tailor data requests and reports to school goals and action plans.

· Disseminate data to sites, district, and state.

· Participate in data review for progress toward interventions and outcomes.

· Assist with training needs of the site related to data collection.
